2018 DaVinci’s Faire Embraced our Community of Multigenerational Attendees & New Event Additions: Code Zone & Manatee STEM Competition

Innovation, Technology, Entrepreneurs, Makers, Mathematics, Engineers, Science, Education and Community: We are DaVinci’s Faire!

Once again Manatee Technical College played host to the communities of Bradenton, Sarasota, Venice, Lakewood Ranch, Englewood and the surrounding area for yet another mindblowing day of DaVinci’s Faire.

The 2018 DaVinci’s Faire & BarCamp included the ever-awesome Deconstruct Zone filled with kids, adults, tools, equipment, and a great learning opportunity for attendees on how to pull electronics apart for spare components, recycling, or just fun and knowledge.

The Code Zone was a huge hit with the youth and run by Little Geniuses LLC. We saw a return of diverse topics focused on education, AI, civic engagement, entrepreneurial funding, the maker movement, and even a deep dive into ancient languages and writing!

Greg Schroeder of Breakfree Technologies once again set up his gaming station to the delight of aficionados and newbies alike. He always has something cool from his collection of board games, whether they be classic or brand new. They often have a hook into a STEM/STEAM concept such as electronic devices, computer-based games, and engineered mechanical projects.

Microsoft University Town Center Included a nice display of their current hardware. Microsoft continues to participate as a reliable and generous sponsor at DaVinci’s Faire, entertaining and educating year after year.

Spark Growth and Station 2 Innovation provided information highlighting the things they’ve been up to benefitting us on the Innovation Coast and their global work.
